The 'Book of Remembrance' was launched on 18 February 2022. It contains a long list of all the known personnel lost in HMT Lancastria on Monday 17 June 1940 when the troopship was bombed and sunk off Saint-Nazaire in the Loire estuary.
It also contains a Foreword by Fiona Symon MBE, a brief history of SS Tyrrhenia/Lancastria, a report by Captain Rudolph Sharp on 26 June 1940, a known list of casualties, pictures of some of the Army badges, a letter written by Wing Commander Douglas Macfadyen RAF, extracts from witness statements collected by G. S. Jordan, letters written concerning family members lost, Acknowledgements and thirty-five illustrations (not including a full colour cover).
The book measures 247 x 187 mm, is printed on long-life paper and contains 64 pages. The cost is £6 per copy, plus postage.
